The Toyota 1/X concept car on view at the Tokyo Motor Show. As impressive as a hybrid as the Toyota Prius is, especially in terms of fuel efficiency, the 1/X takes the hybrid concept to another level. Boasting the same interior space as a Prius, but weighing only 926 pounds, the 1/X promises twice the fuel efficiency, achieving a combined city/highway rating of 90-plus mpg. The hybrid powertrain utilizes the latest plug-in technology, and further helping enhance fuel efficiency is a lightweight yet strong carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic body.
